Born in Louisiana, Jennifer Desormeaux is a true Cajun, conceptual artist and disciplined athlete. She received a BA in Studio Art from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2005 and a MFA from The University of Georgia's Lamar Dodd School of Art in 2010.
She has exhibited regionally, including The Mobile Museum of Art in Alabama, Athens Institute for Contemporary Art and the Lyndon House in Athens, Georgia. Desormeaux's merit and research in photography and art was recently awarded recognition by the Wilson Center for the Humanities and the Arts Graduate Student Research and Performance Grant to support her work in the interdisciplinary fields of Art and Science.
She has instructed Introduction to Photography for the University of Georgia, as well as Digital Photography for the Art and Culture Program in Costa Rica and the South Pacific Study Abroad Program in Australia. Prior to her graduate work, she taught Middle and Upper School Art and Photography at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
